We are having terrible heat as are many states in the USA. Right now the temperature says 88 and feels like 99. Our heat index is to get to 103 degrees. Holly gets so warm even in the air conditioning. Now she is all stretched out, fast asleep under the ceiling fan here by the computer. That is the only time she isn’t panting. I keep plenty of fresh water in her dish. We need to keep drinking plenty of water too.
We had wonderful weather on Saturday and had a great big family reunion with lots of food and good conversation. So many of our kids, grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews showed up. A good time was had by all. Sunday, the 4th, it rained off and on all day but dried up enough for the fireworks. Then today it quit raining for the parade and a good day for the carnival in a nearby town. It turned out much better than we expected. Out East those poor people are breaking heat records. I just hope they don’t blow any grids and lose their lights.
